There are some terms we hear concerning one losing their salvation of which fall from grace, fall away, and apostatize are among the most notable. We also hear of the blotting of a name out of the book of life insinuating that it is the losing of one's salvation. On the surface they seem to indicate that one could lose their salvation. The scripture stating that no man being able to pluck someone out of the hand of the Father (John 10:29) is made to include the added comment, but you can take your own self out.
There is a question posed, can a Christian lose salvation? In the answer to that question it was noted that the first thing was that the term “Christian” had to be defined. You can say a prayer, walk an isle, be a member of a church, live according to a set of Biblical principles, be born and raised in a Christian family, but those don't make you a Christian. Jesus told Nicodemus, Ye must be born again. (John 3:3, 7)
