This is not asking if you are a church member, if you have been baptized, or how good you may be. It is a simple question that has to do with your eternal destiny. It is a question that needs to be answered by each one of us because two things are going to take place. Jesus is coming back and one day you and I will die.

There are only two places that we can go when we die. We will either go to Heaven or Hell. Do you know where you will go when you die? Will you go to Heaven when you die? Do you know for sure? If Jesus was to return in your lifetime, will you be taken to be with him in the Rapture, or will you be left behind? Most people will say that they hope they will go to Heaven, but they are not really sure. If you are not sure, but hope you will, you can be sure. You must be born again in order to go to Heaven. To 'be saved' means to be 'born again'. Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:7 'Ye must be born again'.

God shows us how to be saved in His Word and it is very simple. It is what is known as 'the plan of salvation'.

How can I be saved?

First you must realize that you are a sinner. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

Because you are a sinner, you must realize that you are condemned to death and will be eternally separated from God. "For the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) ... it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. (Hebrews 9:27)

But God loved you and gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die in your place and pay your sin debt. 'He hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us ... that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him' (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus shed His blood and died in our place. 'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

We must repent. God .. commandeth all men every where to repent. (Acts 17:30) Change your mind , entertain other thoughts, and a different opinion of Jesus, than you have had; consider him, and believe in him, as the true Messiah and Savior of the world, sent of God, and the only Redeemer; change your way of speaking of him, and your conduct towards his followers. This repentance also produces a change of actions in life and conversation.

The Philippian jailer asked: 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' and they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.'. (Acts 16:30, 31)

'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.. ..For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ' (Romans 10:9, 10, 13)

Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved is not maybe, I hope so, nor can be, but shall be saved.

Thomas asked Jesus, 'How can we know the way?' (John 14:5) Jesus answered him saying, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.' (John 14:6)

By believing in Jesus Christ as the only Mediator between God and man, we gain comfort, the happiness of heaven. Jesus Christ is the Way to the Father and to heaven, in his person as God manifest in the flesh, in his atoning sacrifice, and as our Advocate. He is the Truth, as fulfilling all the prophecies of a Savior; believing which, sinners come by him the Way. He is the Life, by whose life-giving Spirit the dead in sin are quickened. Nor can any man draw nigh God as a Father, who is not quickened by Him as the Life, and taught by Him as the Truth, to come by Him as the Way. By Christ, as the Way, our prayers go to God, and his blessings come to us. He is the Resurrection and the Life. All that see Christ by faith, see the Father in Him. We are to believe the revelation of God to man in Christ; for the works of the Redeemer show forth his own glory, and God in him.

Right now, you realize you are a sinner in need of the forgiveness of God. Will you open your heart to God in prayer and repentance, and ask Jesus to save you?

Pray something like this: "Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and deserve to die and be eternally separated from You. I believe that Jesus took my place and died on the cross, shedding His blood for me. I believe that he was buried and that He rose from the grave according to the Scriptures. I now ask you to forgive me and come into my heart. I receive you now as my Savior and my Lord. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Now, if you prayed from your heart and asked Jesus to save you, you need to be baptized in obedience to God as a public testimony of your salvation. You need to read your Bible and pray daily in order to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and know how He will enable you to live a victorious life as a child of God. You need to tell others what Christ has done for you and that they, too, can be saved.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19, 20

If you have received Jesus as Lord and Savior, welcome into the family of God and may God bless you!

If you have not received the forgiveness of God in Jesus Christ, I urge you to do so before it is eternally too late!
