Beginning in 2008 and going through the middle of 2009 there was an eruption of calls, in the interest of our nation, for God's people to humble themselves and pray,.... 2 Chronicles 7:14.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
There were email notices being sent all across the internet. Churches across the nation and almost every religious program on television and radio mentioned it frequently. It was as though God was calling us to repent in order to work in the nation to bring about it's healing.
Then, sometime after the middle of 2009, the calls for people to return to the Lord mentioning 2 Chronicles 7:14 began dying off. Now, you hardly hear of it. Why? I would like to be encouraging with this and say that things are going to turn around and we will come back to the values we once had, but I cannot see that happening. I believe that the opportunity for God's provision to heal our land has past because we failed to do our part. We failed to turn from our wicked ways and seek His face.
So then, where are we heading if we are not going to return to the values that we once held? The answer is not easy to give neither to hear. As the power continues to be given to the government, more rules and regulations will be passed until eventually it has total control.
There is coming a time when things are going to collapse and nobody will have an answer. Then will one rise with a solution to all the problems. He will be welcomed with open arms and everyone will think he is the greatest thing that has ever come along. How long it will be until that is completed and that man of sin is revealed, I don't know. But, that day is rapidly approaching. (02/23/2014)
There was a survey conducted by The Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University that found that 63% of Biden voters do not believe “God is the “all-powerful, all-knowing, perfect and just creator,” although a majority identify as Christian. According to the poll, 72% of Biden voters believe that “a person who is generally good, or does enough good things for others, will earn a place in Heaven.” A minority 30% believe the Bible “is the actual or inspired Word of God and contains no errors.” Seventy-five percent of Biden’s voters gave sources other than the Bible as their main reference for moral guidance. Does this reflect the condition of the professing church? This statement is not about Biden voters, but about the beliefs of those who profess to be Christians. The Bible speaks of those who forget God. (Psa 50:16-17, 22) Is it indicative of the destiny of the nation? (Psa 9:17)
